We've all had to battle with that big "F" word at some point in our lives. Should I or shouldn't I? Will I or won't I? Why is this even a thought in my mind? How could they have done something like that to me? Why am I even contemplating this? That painful "F" word....FORGIVENESS!! And even if I do forgive, I'll NEVER FORGET! FORGETTING is for fools!! Most of us, if not all of us, have been guilty of saying, thinking or feeling this way towards others during some moment in our lives.
I myself have fallen prey to the pain of unforgiveness. It seemed the harder I tried to forgive the more poignant the effect of the indiscretion became. I'd began feeling that I was letting the person off the hook. I wanted them to suffer as much as I was suffering. Never did I take a moment to look at the bigger, more important picture. Not once did I take into consideration how unforgiveness was mentally, emotionally and even physically affecting me!
Holding on to the heartache was beginning to cost me Peace, Joy and Love. I was unable to embrace the beauty of life surrounding me because my heart and head were filled with all the hurt from my past! This is when the well known cliche' "Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself" truly became my reality! This particular day I made the conscious decision to gift myself FORGIVENESS! It was no longer about the other person and what they'd done or hadn't done. Suddenly, forgiveness had solely become about ME! ME, living life in perfect peace! ME, experiencing Joy unspeakable! ME, freely giving the Love I was fully capable of giving and being open to receive it! Me, beginning to live out my very best life, as my very best self! All of this began with the decision to FORGIVE!
Unforgiveness is literally poison to our bodies and minds. Most times it begins with an offense that, if not dealt with, metastasizes resent and then bitterness! Our hearts and minds were not created to function properly while carrying this type of negativity! Unforgiveness is truly drinking the poison and then sitting by patiently waiting for the other person to die... We all know how that story ends!!!!
FREE YOURSELF...FORGIVE...LET IT GO....Begin to live life the way it was intended to be, Joyful, Peaceful and filled with Love!!! You'll be grateful that you did...I'm telling you what I know!!!!

The REAL CoNVeRSaTioN
God communicates with each one of us in various ways, on all spiritual levels. For me at times, His voice has been as clear as a sermon on Sunday morning... HALLELUJAH!! Other times, as subtle as a beautiful butterfly landing on a flower at the very moment that I ask Him to send me a sign. (smile)
This particular night was no different. After an inspiring meeting with my husband/pastor/mentor/friend about my future desires and Purpose in life and ministry, God gave me a vision. I could strongly feel in my heart the urge to bring women and young ladies together to talk. Not just about the random, day to day occurences of life, but to have those difficult conversations. Those conversations that force us to evaluate self, confront our past, heal old wounds, become better and ultimately whole! I was pregnant with Vision adn Purpose! This Vision became reality about 8 months later when The REAL CoNVeRSaTioN was born!!
What is The REAL CoNVeRSaTioN you ask??? Let me explain! The REAL CoNVeRSaTioN is about Real Women with Real Issues, having Real Talk! This is a gathering tailor made for us, to talk about the things that affect us, in an environment filled with Encouragement, Empowerment and Inspiration!! This is an open forum for all women! The only admission is a pure and open heart and your life experiences!
Our first conversation was in July 2013. Our topic of discussion was "Mean Girls: Why are women so mean to one another?" We delved into how we as women Gossip about, Lie to and Betray one another and why. This conversation was so intense that it was broken down into two parts! Our third conversation in August was titled "The Selfies that Matter: Self Esteem, Self Worth and Self Confidence!" This was yet another great topic! The atmosphere was filled with support, breakthroughs and healing!!
Join us this Saturday, October 19th,2013 for this months conversation on "The gift that truly keeps on giving...FORGIVENESS!" This is a heavy topic that has weighed many of us down for many months and in some cases years! It is time for us to be FREE!!! Come out and if you know a woman that needs to be liberated bring her too! We have a solid, honest, Loving core group of Ladies that you will be glad you connected with. Let's Talk!!!!

FINALLY!!!!!
Hello Beautiful people!! It seems to have taken me FOREVER to get this thing started! However, I've finally joined the blogging world and I'm SUPER excited about it!! I want to first thank everyone of you for taking a moment to spend some time in my world. My name is LaShawn Spry. I am a 37 year old wife, mother, baby sister to 5 siblings, aunt to more nieces and nephews than I can count, cousin, confidant and friend. I am a Police Dispatcher, First Lady, Life Coach/Counselor, Motivational Speaker, CEO and college student pursuing my BS in Psychology and Clinical Counseling. I am naturally Loud, extremely Passionate, sincerely Compassionate, Honest, Affectionate, Creative, Loyal, Stylish and painfully Transparent. My most prized possession is my heart for YOU!!!
God has given me a ministry for Women and young ladies that have been broken by the demons of their past. My desire is to see you fully healed and walking in your God given GREATNESS!! This leads me to the purpose of my blog. My Passion and Purpose is to devote the rest of my life to assisting you in the challenging process and pursuit of Mental, Emotional, Physical and Spiritual wholeness by Encouraging, Empowering and Inspiring you heal from the hurts of your past.
